This is how the home page normally looks when you enter the website. Some graphics or specific items may not be the same, but this is the general layout.

At the bottom of each page (I have chosen the directions page) there are buttons to login, check your forgotten password, and barely visible, a link to "create an account." This link will take you to the same location as an email you may have recieved asking you to register. You may also go there by clicking here

The resulting page will the Registration Page and it will look like this.
Here you are to fill in your Name, a "User Name" (which can be anything you want, like your nick-name, just as long as you remember it), your current email address, and then a field for you to make up a password for yourself, typing it once in the password box, and a second time in the verify box.
It important that you remember your password because no one else will know it, and if you lose it, you'll have to create a new one. Once you're done filling in all the data, press the "Register" button.

A registration request will be sent to the webmaster, and you will recieve an email asking to verify that the email you listed is in fact your email. Once you verify by clicking the link provided in the email, we will open your account, you will have new access to areas of the site not visible before, and will be on your way to editing section of the site under your control. But first you'll need to login, so read the instructions that follow once you're successfully registered.
This concludeds this part of the training. Once you're registered you will be able to login as shown below, and continue with this training using this same page but seeing additional steps reserved for only registered users

At the bottom of each page on the site are the buttons and fields to login. Just type your Username in the username box, and your password in the box next to it, and click the button to login.

How do you know if you're successfully logged in? Look at the bottom of the page. you'll see a welcome saying "Hi" followed by your user name. Also, you'll notice a subtle indicator above any article that you have access and ownership* to edit. Note the subtle difference from what you see right above the map on this image vs. what you see in step 2.
*Ownership is automatically assigned to any article or item you place on the site, or can be switched to you by the webmaster.
